Employing a biblical-historical-systematic pattern of development, Garrett provides a comprehensive study of each of these doctrines by first locating, interpreting, and correlating all the pertinent Old and New Testament texts, as well as the more significant statements from the patristic period to the modern age, before offering a contemporary systematic restatement of each doctrine for today’s students of the Bible. Garrett also carefully treats a number of topics not usually considered in traditional systematic theologies, such as discipleship and stewardship. Though writing as an evangelical from a Baptist perspective, Garrett remains in dialogue with nearly 1,800 authors from almost every Christian confession as well as with numerous recent and contemporary theological movements. His Systematic Theology is designed especially for the following: students in theological seminaries and divinity schools; pastors of churches, in particular those who wish to undertake a fresh study of theology, especially in relation to their exegetical, homiletical, didactic, apologetic, and missionary tasks; and general readers who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the Christian faith. .Найменування теми як предметна рубрика: Theology, Doctrinal | Systematic theology, Eschatology Тип одиниці:
