This second and final volume of James Leo Garrett Jr.’s widely praised Systematic Theology interprets five major Christian doctrines: the work of Jesus Christ, the person and work of the Holy Spirit, becoming a Christian and the Christian life, the church, and the last things.
Employing a biblical-historical-systematic pattern of development, Garrett provides a comprehensive study of each of these doctrines by first locating, interpreting, and correlating all the pertinent Old and New Testament texts, as well as the more significant statements from the patristic period to the modern age, before offering a contemporary systematic restatement of each doctrine for today’s students of the Bible. Garrett also carefully treats a number of topics not usually considered in traditional systematic theologies, such as discipleship and stewardship.
