‘Todaypeople reject Christianity, not because they think it is false, but because they think it is irrelevant’. After all, what does a primitive Palestinian religion have to do with space travel, genetic engineering or a depleted ozone layer? Are Christians so concerned with preserving biblical truth that we have little to offer those who suffer, those who are lonely or those who despair? John Stott makes a trumpet call to all disciples of Chrst to be both contemporary snd biblical. The first means to live and move with the times. The second requires that we retain unswering loyalty to God's Word. Combining the two is not an easy task.
