The Apostle Paul began Romans chapter 8 with these great words: “Therels therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (NASB). Through the rest of the chapter, he pointed out several ways that the Holy Spirit confirms the secu-rity of a Christian’s salvation: He frees believers from sin and death, enables them to fulfill God’s law, changes their nature, empowers them for victory, confirms their adoption by God, and guarantees their future glorification.
Many people today believe that it is possible for a Christian to lose his salvation. However, Paul said that when a person be-comes saved, he is adopted by God. He becomes an heir of God, and a joint heir with Christ. The Apostle also said that whomever God predestinated to become a Christian will be glorified. Nothing can ever separate us from the love of Christ! This study of the believer’s security in salvation will explain how the Holy Spirit ministers to us, and shed light on the depth of God’s eternal love for us.
