History and Eschatology : The Gifford Lectures 1955 / Bultmann, Rudolf D.

Мова: англійська.Країна: ВЕЛИКА БРИТАНІЯ.Вихідні дані: Edinburgh : The University Press, 1957Опис: Hardcover. Sewn Binding. Volume: 171 pages. : Color of cover: Red. Класифікація: 236 / Bul / 1957Анотація: Professor Emeritus Rudolf Bultmann is one of the most notable theological teachers of the twentieth century. After holding Chairs of Theology in Breslau and Giessen, he was appointed Professor of New Testament and Early Christian History at Marburg in 1921, a Chair which he retained for thirty years. He was one of the pioneers of Form Criticism, and stands in close relation to the Existentialists, especially to Martin Heidegger. His History of Synoptic Tradition (1921—2nd edition 193 1) and his Jesus won him outstanding fame. Among his voluminous published works two stand out, The Gospel of St. John and Theology of the New Testament, the latter being available in English in two volumes. A volume of his essays has also appeared in English. His Gifford Lectures, entitled History and Eschatology, offer his interpretation of history. They are particularly important in that Bultmann’s thought has so far suffered from the lack of a clear statement of his attitude to history, which these lectures now provide. They, therefore, have a special importance for Theologians, Philosophers, Historians and the general reader. One of the most interesting features of this new book is Bultmann’s discovery of an affinity between his own thought and that of R. G. Collingwood..Найменування теми як предметна рубрика: Eschatology Тип одиниці: Книги
