It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Catholics believe in the Second Coming. Each time we recite the Creed at our Sunday liturgies, we proclaim our faith that Jesus “will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His Kingdom will have no end.”
What may come as a surprise is the Church’s view that we’ve been living in the last days for nearly 2,000 years — ever since Jesus Christ rose from the dead. The period from then until His return in glory is called “the last days” by the Church.
