Класифікація: 239 / Haz / 1952Анотація: On proving god is a handbook for the Christian believer who is constantly being challenged today to give a reason for his faith. Its purpose is to prepare him to give this reason by helping him to clarify his own faith and to understand what J the doubter actually wants in the way of proof. Dr. Hazelton first considers the various types of doubters—those who say belief is an illusion, those who are skeptics because of the discoveries of science, those who are influenced by communism and those who have not yet made up their minds either for God or against Him but are only waiting to be shown why they should care at all. Then he shows the case for God each requires, how unbelievers may be invited into the faith, why it must be done and how Christianity can thereby be saved and strengthened. In conclusion, Dr. Hazelton says that the most important part of any proof is a sincere desire to win. The believer must speak with genuine confidence and yet with sympathy and humility for often a yearning after God is masked beneath the protestation that God does not exist. “Our task, entered upon in faith and on behalf of faith, is . . . that of disarming the doubter, not for the sake of rendering him harmless but so that he may know the joy and peace of believing”. .Найменування теми як предметна рубрика: Christian apologetics Тип одиниці:
