These ten Bible studies in John's first letter point readers to the fundamentals of the Christian faith. They are designed for individuals or groups with the aim of encouraging them to share their faith. Commissioned to mark the bicentenary of Australia, the studies reflect the concern of Australian Baptists for the Bible: the Word of God in the words of men. It is hoped that the studies will find a wide audience. The author, Dr. Noel Vose, is President of the Baptist World Alliance with 35 million members in 130,000 churches in 150 countries. He is principal of the Baptist Theological College of Western Australia Vice-President of the Scripture Union and of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students.
