This book sets out to present positively, to the untrained reader, what Christianity still has to say. It begins, as Christianity begins, with Jesus and the God in whom he believed. Here are the central affirmations of Christianity. But how do we know? This problem is dealt with next, after which there is an account of the practical implications of Christian belief. A fourth chapter looks at the major intellectual difficulties: the problem of evil, the challenge of science and attacks on religious belief by modern philosophy. A last chapter, full of new original thought, looks at man and his future-in this world and after death.
